Apakah Bahasa Inggris masih tetap diajarkan di SD tahun ajaran baru 2013/2014?

Bahasa Inggris di SD tahun ajaran 2013/2014 akan tetap diajarkan di wilayah Kecamatan Tulis Kabupaten Batang. Selama belum ada dan belum diterapkan kurikulum baru, Kurikulum 2013 SD-SD di Kecamatan Tulis masih menggunakan Kurikulum yang lama. Kurikulum 2013 hanya diimplementasikan untuk SD yang ditunjuk dan itupun sebatas hanya untuk uji coba kelas 1 dan kelas 4.

Memang di lapangan, penulis mendengar ada kabar yang tidak mengenakkan, banyak kepala sekolah yang secara tegas meniadakan Bahasa Inggris di SD untuk tahun ajaran baru nanti. Padahal jelas Di Kecamatan Tulis belum secara resmi menerapkan kurikulum 2013 tersebut. Penulis sangat menyayangkan dengan sikap kepala sekolah tersebut yang melarang Bahasa Inggris untuk tidak diajarkan di lingkungan Sekolah Dasar.

Penulis hari ini bertemu dengan Kepala Sekolah SD Kaliboyo yang juga merupakan ketua K3S(Kelompok Kerja Kepala Sekolah) Kecamatan Tulis, Bapak Marsono, S.Pd. yang sangat menyesalkan keadaan yang serba dilematis, kata Beliau, "Bahasa Inggris seharusnya masih tetap diajarkan di SD. Kenapa mesti dikesampingkan, padahal dalam Lomba Olimpiade Sais soal 60% dalam Bahasa Inggris. Jadi anak SD perlu juga mengenal dan menguasai kemampuan dasar Bahasa Inggris. Di SD memang strukturnya hanya terdiri dari Kepala Sekolah, Guru Agama, Guru Penjas, Guru kelas dan Penjaga. Tidak ada kolom khusus untuk Guru Bahasa Inggris. Seharusnya guru-guru di SD bisa dan mampu mengajarkankan Bahasa Inggris juga, guru SD harus mau belajar dan terampil. Namun kenyataannya ada keterbatasan dari mereka sehingga kami mendatangkan guru Bahasa Inggris namun sebatas guru Panggilan, dimana tidak tetap. Bagi Guru yang berijazah pendidikan Bahasa Inggris memang alangkah baiknya mengajar di Sekolah lanjutan. Adapun mereka dapat mengajar di SD namun sifatnya hanya membantu seperti yang saya katakan tadi." Beliau menambahi, Selama Belum ada instruksi dari Dinas, maka SD kami dan SD di kecamatan Tulis akan tetap menggunakan kurikulum lama, dalam arti Bahasa Inggris masih tetap diajarkan."

Penulis, memang tidak mengajar di lingkungan SD lagi. Namun KKG Bahasa Inggris belum resmi dibubarkan. Saat ini masih dalam tanda tanya bagaimana nasib KKG Selanjutnya. Sementara masih vakum. meskipun demikian penulis yang juga masih menjabat sebagai ketua KKG Bahasa Inggris SD di Kecamatan Tulis masih menyempatkan waktu untuk datang ke SD dan atas nama KKG, masih membantu pembuatan dan distribusi soal Bahasa Inggris untuk kelas 1-3. karena memang untuk kelas 1-3 tidak dibuatkan soal dari Kabupaten. Selama ini soal hanya untuk kelas 4-6.

Blog Bahasa Inggris Anak mengalami penurunan drastis

Blog Bahasa Inggris Anak mengalami penurunan pengunjung. Penurunan ini disebabkan karena kebijakan kurikulum baru yaitu Kurikulum 2013 yang tidak memberi tempat bagi pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk anak-anak terutama di tingkat Playgroup, TK dan SD. Blog ini banyak membahas tentang pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk anak-anak. Sejak Bahasa Inggris tidak dianjurkan dan kabarnya akan dihapus dari SD, maka pengunjung  sudah tidak begitu memerlukan blog ini.

Bahasa Inggris Anak

Blog ini awalnya tiada pengunjung karena masih hijau dan baru diciptakan. Kemudian lama-kelamaan pengunjung mulai mengunjungi blog ini melalui mesin pencari Google. Blog ini sempat memiliki pengunjung yang cukup banyak, mencapai 1500an pengujung per hari. Namun semakin kesana semakin tenggelam. Dahulu banyak dari guru-guru Bahasa Inggris di SD dan orang tua murid yang mengunjungi blog ini, namun setelah adanya kebijakan baru dari pemerintah dengan kurikulum terbarunya, maka secara tidak langsung mengancam eksistensi blog ini. Blog ini pengujungnya turun drastis menjadi hanya 700an pengunjung tiap harinya.

Namun demikian penulis tetap eksis menulis dan menulis posting artikel dan materi untuk pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk anak-anak Indonesia. Penulis memang tidak bisa intens seperti dulu lagi karena sekarang sudah tidak mengajar di SD lagi. Penulis sekarang sedang beradaptasi dengan Bahasa Inggris di Sekolah lanjutan.

Removing English in Primary Schools, Kindergarten is not a solution

It’s been long long time, children learn English both at Elementary schools and kindergarten as well as Playgroup. The fact tells us that they are enthusiastic with English learning. They can sing English songs very well, they can play games and drawing.

This atmosphere will soon be removed by the new regulation from our government that English will not be recommended to be taught at those schools. The government doesn’t support us anymore as if it were in the earlier time.

We are living in an era where there is no border between countries in the world. We are living in a sophisticated world. Where English becomes the world language used by people in all over the world. Most of materials, book, internet are written in English as a medium of communication. But why, Why our government doesn’t encourage English to be mastered.

It’s not fair if English is going to be removed, How can children get early English education? Is it OK if they start English from Secondary schools? Children will be difficult of course if they start learning at that school.

At Junior high school children don’t get English fun environment. They can’t sing, they can’t play games nor draw and color books. The atmosphere will be different of course as English at this school emphasizes on Genre-based learning. There no period where students can explore and find their time to study while learning English.  

In my opinion, English will be better if it’s taught from the earlier time. They need to know, to be introduced it by means of fun learning. This will drive them to the success of English learning in the next grade of school, at junior high schools as well as senior high schools even at University.

So, don’t take the children’s right. Isn’t Education is one of our fundamental right?. As mentioned in UUD 1945 which tells us that all of Indonesian people including children have their right  to get a good education. Removing English at the early education is not a solution. The solution itself is that English should be reorganized, both the curriculum and the teachers(Qualified teachers) their selves as well as the  environment which supports the atmosphere of fun English teaching-learning process.

I want to fly to America

One day my friend, named Mrs. Arny offered me to study a post graduate program(S2) to America. It’s a scholarship program. I can continue my study to the USA if I get the TOEFL score of 500 more. That only qualification is needed for me to realize my dream flying to America studying English.

I'd like to get a scholarship to study English in the USA

Mrs. Arny Promised me to call her relative in America to help me and herself get the scholarship of the post graduate program of English. The program will be free 100 percents. I don’t need to pay for the study. All I have to do is preparing for getting a good score for the TOEFL test.

Initially, I must take a TOEFL test for 350.000 rupiahs. Mrs Arny asks me to follow the TOEFL test which will be held in Semarang next month. Right now, I’ve been preparing both of money and material to be learned to have the test. Finally, I pray for me, myself and Mrs. Arny to pass the test well so we can fly to The USA to continue our post graduate program.
